  • Vision Board for Hot26 Teacher Training

Pay Attention. This could transform your life.

Walking the journey of personal transformation is a life-changing process.

As part of our upcoming Hot 26 Teacher Training course, that’s exactly what our students will experience as they prepare to become OHYA certified hot yoga instructors. Today, we’re taking you inside our course content, to give you a taste of one of our first assignments: Vision Boarding!

You see, when we developed the course, the biggest learning need aside from the core 26 postures happens to be “getting clear with and honoring my highest and best self”.  We learned that students are hungry for a well rounded process that helps them clarify their biggest dreams and goals for their life’s work. And they want to understand the “why” behind that.

We are so excited about this opportunity to offer you unparalleled teacher training at amazing prices! If you are interested in applying for the Fall 2017 program, only a couple of slots are available, so act quickly!

What is a Vision Board?

A vision board is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a specific life goal. Literally, a vision board is any sort of board on which you display images that represent whatever you want to be, do or have in your life.

The activity of visualizing what really matters to you, combined with getting your hands and thoughts working together to create a visual story that you can look at every day… that combination works.

Huffington Post author Elizabeth Rider says this, “When you create a vision board and place it in a space where you see it often, you essentially end up doing short visualization exercises throughout the day.”

When you take up vision boarding, you are among a storied group of people! Professional golfers, Olympic athletes, productivity gurus and even yogis use visualization regularly to improve performance.

Psychology Today reports that the brain patterns that are fired during high performance activity is are also similarly activated when simply *visualizing* those high performance moments.

What’s the point of making a vision board?

Quite simply, we are a culture bombarded by distractions. Creating and using vision boards helps identify, clarify and reinforce what matters most to you in your life.

When should I do vision boarding?

Vision boards can be created for big life changing events, or for simple project planning.

Here is Amy’s personal Vision Board!

Vision Boarding is always a key part of our training because studies show that Vision Boarding, a pictorial form of mental visualization, actually works!

How do I get started?

Get clear on what you are after! Before you start gathering images, take the time to answer these key questions:

1. Who is the “fill in your first name” that you most want to be?
2. What words and pictures best express your highest and best self?
3. If you could have ONE wish for an ideal life, what would that be?

Now, it’s your turn! Make it fun! Do it alone or with a group of friends!

Are special tools needed?

Aside from your creativity and willingness to think outside the box, not really…

Grab a poster board and a bunch of markers and pens. Use old magazines to find pictures, words and phrases you love. Add personal photos or bits of ephemera that are meaningful to you.

Can it be done digitally?

Sure! You can also do vision boarding digitally by gathering images from your online stash including sites Google images, Pinterest or Instagram.

If you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, we have a FREE Vision Boarding template that can make the process fun and easy!
