“I’m going to take my break.” These were the words that my Starbuck’s barrister used the other days after making morning tea. Another customer asked her what she was going to do. She said that she was just going to sit quietly, enjoy her coffee and reflect on the holiday season. These words really seemed to resonate with me.
I have noticed that towards the end of the year that I need and want more reflection time. How did I experience the current year? What energized me? What drained my energy? How do I want to experience the coming year?
This might sound like setting New Year’s goals, but for me it is something deeper. It’s about how I want to experience life. It’s making sure that I am aligning my actions with purpose.
After looking at my calendar, I realized that I need to “take a break” so I can prepare myself and the studio to experience our best year ever. So, for now I am going to take a break from blogging to prepare for the New Year. Don’t worry. You will still hear from us about some amazing upcoming events planned for January.
Are you in need of additional time to reflect on the year and think about aligning your actions and purpose for the coming year? What did you experience this year? What would you like more of in 2016? Share your reflections with us. I encourage you to carve out some time for this important activity. It may be the best present you receive this holiday season.
