Today, I’m not handling it well.
I am mentality tired. I am focused on the future… not the present. I am starting to question everything in my life.
Have you everyone felt this way? As Dr. Wayne Dryer would say, the “Shift” has is happening.
It usually happens in the second part of our life when you realize you want more in your life than ambition. You also want meaning.
The “Shift” is often ushered in with feelings of discontentment, frustration, and unhappiness….a sense that nothing is going right. But what triggers it? You know it’s happening, but then what? Isn’t life suppose to be wonderful ? Did I miss this chapter of the book?
For me, the shift happened about several years ago. I talked about this shift in my “lifting the veil” blog post. Truthfully, even though I have made the shift, I am still trying to find my way.
This is a big step for me. Articulating that I do not have everything figured out is huge. Choosing to share my thoughts on this blog is even bigger.
For years, I operated under the belief that you need to be perceived as strong and stoic. Have all of the answers and never let anyone see you sweat. That was my mantra.
Well, this old mantra didn’t serve me very well. That’s why I made the shift. I now realize that the shift is really just a new beginning. Just like learning to walk or taking a yoga class for the first time.
Each day is new. Everything is awkward. I cannot see the future clearly. It is days like today when I don’t have the answers that I return to my faith. God does have a wonderful plan for my life. I need to trust in this belief.
So, for today I am going to allow myself to be tired and frustrated. It’s ok not to have all the answers. I am going to administer some self love by heading to the studio to take a Bikram Yoga Class. I have learned over the years that taking class always seems to be bring my life back into perspective.
Are you having this kind of day? Are you going through a shift? Share your thoughts with me and others below about how you are dealing with your “shift”.
If you haven’t figured it out just know that you are in good company with the rest of us. Feel free to reach out to me directly. I certainly do not have all the answers but I walk the new journey with you.
